This Charities Commission information sheet details the qualities that it considers contribute to making a charity efficient and effective, and best able to achieve its purposes. These are not a compliance requirement rather the "qualities" are intended to assist charities in developing the effectiveness and efficiency of their work and operations.

  (NZCSS) is a co-ordinating council for community groups which publishes around 35 Community Resources supporting the not for profit sector.  These publications can be ordered from the website.

Graduate Diploma in Not for Profit Management
This Unitec professional (part-time) qualification is designed for managers, co-ordinators, team leaders, volunteers and board members of community, voluntary and Tangata Whenua organisations. People can study as many or as few courses per year as their schedule allows, with a number of courses being available in Dunedin.
