  • Three Sandy Point Sporting Facilities Receive Major Grant Funding

    The Community Trust of Southland has approved major grants for three sporting facilities at Sandy Point. Grants were approved for a new control tower at the Teretonga Park racing circuit ($350,000), an upgrade of the Invercargill Kart Club's Clubrooms ($65,000), and to assist with major renovations to the Invercargill Rowing Club's facilities ($220,000).     Countless litters of unwanted animals will be spared an uncertain fate thanks to the pro-active approach of Gore SPCA manager Tanya Burke. Appointed to the helm of the organisation eight months ago, Mrs Burke established new criteria ensuring all animals were desexed by the SPCA before being adopted out - an initiative certain to have a considerable impact on the number of animals surrendered in future.   • Relief for Wyndham's aches
