At the Community Trust of Southland we know how important the early years are in a child's life. Our vision of having a 'A Thriving Southland' is underpinned by four pillars, that include a focus on the early years (prenatal to 4 years).

Health, Wellbeing & Active Lifestyles

The Community Trust of Southland aims to work with communities to ensure people participate, are supported, empowered and cared for.

Wellbeing

We aim to promote the wellbeing of people in our region through prevention and early intervention services, including a focus on:

  • the early years (prenatal to 4 years);
  • parenting; and,
  • supporting vulnerable people in our region, including the early years (prenatal to 4 years)

Active Lifestyles

We aim to provide grassroots support for life long active participation and engagement, including a focus on children (0-13 years).

Education

Working with communities to ensure every person has the opportunity to achieve their potential, we aim to support 0-5 year old children in our region to have the best start, with a focus on:

  • engaging and supporting parents to be involved in their child's learning and development
  • ensuring children are well prepared to succeed by the time they start school
  • providing support for identified vulnerable/at risk children 

Who can apply?

Please refer to our eligibility criteria to see if your  early year's organisation or project is eligible for Community Trust of Southland funding.

 

When to apply?

You can apply any time of the year. Grants are considered under the following categories:

  • $2,000 & under applications are accepted throughout the year and take up to 6 weeks for a decision to be made. 
  • $5,000 & under applications are accepted throughout the year and take up to 6 weeks for a decision to be made.
  • $50,000 & under applications are accepted throughout the year and take up to 8 weeks for a decision to be made.

Please ensure that you have allowed enough time for your application to be processed. Our ability to process and assess applications in these timeframes is dependent on the number of applications received and complexity of applications at any one time.
